TAKK (2010, Spain, ES & New York, US) is an architecture and research practice founded by Mireia Luzárraga (°1981, Madrid, ES) and Alejandro Muiño (°1982, Barcelona, ES). Its work explores the intersection of architecture, ecology, feminism, and politics, with a particular focus on developing design methodologies through which contemporary critical thought can inform architectural production. Drawing on feminism, queer ecologies, posthuman studies, and low-embodied-carbon material practices, TAKK investigates possible alternatives for the future of architecture through material experimentation, construction, and spatial practice.

Luzárraga is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Core I at Columbia University GSAPP, where both Luzárraga and Muiño have served as Dean’s Visiting Professors. Both have also taught at the SEKISUI HOUSE–KENGO KUMA Lab at the University of Tokyo, while Muiño is currently Adjunct Professor at HEAD–Genève/MAIA and Elisava.

TAKK’s work has received numerous distinctions, including the Design Vanguard Award, FAD Award, COAM Award, and Best Archilovers Project Award, and has been recognized by Forbes and AD100 Spain. Its work is held in collections including the Vitra Design Museum, mudac Lausanne, FRAC Centre-Val de Loire, MAK Center Los Angeles, and Disseny Hub Barcelona, and the practice has developed projects and collaborations with MAXXI, Hermès, Moncler, Vitra, Swatch, and Camper.
