Over the past few weeks, four pupils from the Kameleon class created a unique audio walk as part of Fly’s Treasures, in collaboration with audiographer Matthias Corneillie and Mastiek.

In the Kameleon class at Spermalie primary school, children with a visual impairment come together to learn, play and experience the world around them. The pupils took inspiration from the art and architecture installations of Bruges Triennial: Spaces of Possibility and created their own audio walk.

In the first phase, the children visited the various Bruges Triennial installations. They each selected four works: the ones they found most appealing and inspiring. In a series of assignments, they viewed, touched, reflected on, and daydreamed about these installations. The next phase involved writing out a scenario, with some children opting for a more journalistic approach, while others let their imaginations run wild.

Finally, with the help of audiographer Matthias Corneillie, the children recorded the four audio guides. You can listen to the result from 1 July at The tower of balance, Firesong for the bees, a tree of clay, Common Thread and Earthsea Pavilion.

In cooperation with Mastiek.
