The installation Skyscraper (the Bruges Whale) by StudioKCA and designed for Bruges Triennial 2018: Liquid City | Vloeibare Stad is going on tour. The first stop of this Asian Pacific Tour is in Singapore.

Skyscraper the bruges whale Matthias Desmet

In autumn 2019 Skyscraper – an 11-metre tall whale, made from five tons of plastic waste – was still on display in Utrecht, where she could be seen leaping from the water of the Catharijnesingel. The project initiators – the Utrecht Centre for Water, Oceans and Sustainability Law (UCWOSL), Bruges Triennial and StudioKCA – wanted to focus attention on the consequences of water pollution and get people talking about sustainable water management.

Thanks to the Ocean Recovery Alliance, Skyscraper (the Bruges Whale) is now continuing her mission. You can see the installation as part of the Climate: S.O.S. – Season of Sustainability Exhibition in the Art Science Museum in Singapore until mid-January. She will then be continuing her journey along the Asian coastline.
